John Cullen is Managing Director of Purepay Capital with responsibility for capital deployment and portfolio company governance.

John's background in acquisitions, operations and mid-market company stewardship is based in his experience founding and running multiple private companies. He has executed successful M&A campaigns in both private and public companies, closing nearly 20 buyout transactions.

Prior to forming Purepay Capital, John was Founder & CEO of CMS Communications, a telecommunications infrastructure software company. After 18 months of acquisitive growth, he sold CMS to Evolving Systems (NASDAQ: EVOL). At Evolving, he led the companies M&A efforts as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.

Mr. Cullen was also the Founder & CEO of technology consulting firm, POV Partners. After 3 years of organic growth, POV was sold to Whittman-Hart (NASDAQ: WHIT).

John spent his early career at Chemical Bank (JPMorgan Chase) and Andersen Consulting (Accenture) where he developed an understanding of the financial services industry, technology and the capital markets.

He graduated with honors from Marietta College with a BS in Industrial Engineering. He resides in the Columbus area with his wife Sy, and two children, Lauren and Ryan.
